Bullion Thread (Large): Bright Check Bullion

I have stopped supplying sizes 3 to 8 of the Bright Check Bullion as the larger bullion’s and are not commonly used. I recommend using the bullion threads that I sell for large projects that are seen from a distance as the threads are too big for small embroidery designs under 10 inch in size. For embroidered pictures and for special occasion garments I recommend using the Bullion – Bright Check Purl No. 1 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 1.5 mm across the width of the thread. No. 2 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 1.75 mm across the width of the thread. No. 3 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 2.5 mm across the width of the thread. No. 4 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 2.75 mm across the width of the thread. No. 5 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 3 mm across the width of the thread. No. 6 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 4 mm across the width of the thread. No. 7 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 5 mm across the width of the thread. No. 8 Bright Check Bullion: Approximately 6 mm across the width of the thread. Bright Bullions are made up of a very fine wire thread that is wound into a soft flexible hollow tube with a jaggered/serrated and shiny surface. The wire of the thread is copper based with a gold or silver plating and will tarnish over time. The tube is cut up into chips (beads) and couched down onto the fabric – passing the needle and thread through the middle of the chip so the thread is hidden and can be sewn over felt or crochet cotton padding to give the area dimension. I suggest ordering enough for your entire project as the manufacturing batches of the bullion can vary in colour and texture of the jaggered/serrated surface so you may not get an exact match the next time you order. Visit the Metal Thread Information page of my website for further information and pictures on how the thread can be used on an embroidery and FAQ about metal threads.
