The Goldwork Phoenix design is a combination of metal thread and counted thread embroidery. The design is worked on black 25 count Lugana fabric. First a tacked outline of the design is transferred onto the fabric, then the flames are worked in simple blackwork pattern in 4 shades of metallic threads and outlined in pearl purl. The wings and tail feathers of the Phoenix are worked in 15 different types of metal threads in shades of gold and copper. In the kit I provide a detailed instruction booklet with 24 pages of step-by-step diagrams and instructions for each technique on the goldwork design. Each of my goldwork designs have different metal thread techniques so doing one design doesn’t necessarily prepare you for another design. Each design is unique making for a new stitching experience each time.
